”Having worked hard to re-establish the company name, by the middle of 2015, the three directors, all brothers, knew they had to grow or stagnate which meant making a number of long term investments, by employing a contracts manager and estimator. Estimating had previously been carried out by one of the brothers using Excel which is ok for simple projects, but does not provide the information that is needed, by the site manager and surveyor, in the repair of a listed building or construction of a bespoke house or school classroom.

The estimator who joined Gransden Construction, had no hesitation in recommending ConQuest as he knew, as a long term user, it was a once only investment that would be suitable for a range of projects. Apart from being easy to use, stable, adaptable, with no formula or macro’s to worry about, Conquest produces a variety of reports but when you do have a problem, a telephone call to support usually sees the problem resolved in minutes by the friendly and knowledgeable member of staff via Logmein123.

The other benefit for a small office has been Enquiries online, with no printing or posting to do or messing about creating email-able links for multiple emails you can get on with estimating. Enquiries online has been welcomed by those suppliers and subcontractors new to it and previous users prefer its logical format. Tender amendments and additional trades are easily dealt with in the estimate and enquiries modules and with the tracking facility you know who has received and viewed these documents.

Hopefully by the time this feature is published at least one if not two of the projects completed with Conquest will be a secured project on site, starting to recoup the investment and showing the benefit of being able to price for the mix of subcontractors and our own direct labour”.
